OMG Med is the study of how an individual's genetic inheritance affects the body's response to drugs. This report provides information on patient's genotype response to a list of drugs (with evidence level 1A to 3) based on the guidelines developed by databases such as Pharmacogenomics Knowledge Base (PharmGKB), Clinical Pharmacogenetics Implementation Consortium (CPIC), US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Dutch Pharmacogenetics Working Group (DPWG) and Pharmacogene Variation Consortium (PharmVar).

Need for the product

Adverse drug reactions (ADRs) are a significant concern in healthcare. Some individuals may have genetic variants that make them more susceptible to experiencing adverse effects from certain medications. OMG Med testing can identify these genetic variations, allowing healthcare providers to avoid medications that may cause severe side effects or toxicity in specific patients.

Does not test for all possible variants related to specific traits. Does not account for lifestyle or other factors that may affect the traits.

OMG Med only covers the drugs showing a genomic correlation, so this is limited to a subset of drugs.
